Twelve questions, answered properly rather than diplomatically.
The questions
people actually ask
Pricing, timelines, revisions, hosting, ownership and what I need from you. If yours is not here, email it. Genuinely useful questions usually end up on this page.
Frequently asked questions
What kinds of projects do you take on?
Web development, app development, UI/UX design, and brand and graphic design, plus hosting and care plans for the things I build. Most engagements combine two: an identity and the site that carries it, or a product design and the build that follows it.
Where are you based, and do you work remotely?
The studio is in Rosebank, Johannesburg, with a Cape Town base used by appointment. Almost all of the work runs remotely with no geographic limit. Recent clients have been in Cape Town, Berlin, Tokyo and Mahé.
How do you price work?
Websites are fixed-price packages published on the pricing pages, so you can budget before we speak. Apps run as a fixed-price discovery followed by a fixed-price build. Hosting and consulting are monthly. You will never receive an invoice for something we did not agree in writing first.
What does a project cost?
A one-page launch site is R9 500, a seven-page business website R24 500, an online store R48 000, and custom platforms from R95 000. Apps start at R55 000 for a progressive web app and R165 000 for a cross-platform build. Hosting and care plans run from R450 a month.
How long will it take?
One to two weeks for a launch page, three to five for a business website, five to eight for a store, and eight to sixteen for a custom platform. Apps run six to twenty weeks depending on scope. You get a dated schedule before you commit.
How many revisions are included?
Two rounds of substantive revision at each stage, which is enough for the vast majority of projects. Further rounds are R650 an hour and I will tell you before we cross that line, not after.
Do I have to take a hosting plan with you?
No. You can host anywhere, and I will hand over everything needed to do that. Plans exist because most clients would rather someone else handled backups, updates and the 21:00 Sunday outage. They start at R450 a month and you can cancel with 30 days' notice.
Can you take over a site somebody else built?
Regularly. Roughly half the sites on care plans arrived that way. The audit is free and you get the findings whether or not you sign anything, including an honest answer if the right move is a rebuild rather than a rescue.
Who owns the work when it is finished?
You do, in full, on final payment. That includes editable source files and the code repository, which sits in your own GitHub organisation from the first commit. Infrastructure is provisioned in accounts you control.
Can you work to a fixed budget?
Yes, and I would prefer to. Tell me the ceiling in the first conversation and the scope is designed to fit inside it rather than discovered to exceed it in month four.
What do you need from me to start?
An honest brief, one decision-maker with authority to sign off, and reasonable availability for scheduled reviews. Projects rarely fail on craft; they fail when approval takes three weeks each time.
How do I start a project?
Send an email or use the enquiry form. You will get a reply within two working days, followed by a 30-minute call to establish whether the fit is right before anybody writes a proposal.
Starting fees and timelines by service
These are starting points, not ceilings. Every project is quoted properly after a scoping call.
- Web Design & Development2 – 12 weeks depending on page countFrom R9 500
- App Development6 – 20 weeks depending on scopeFrom R55 000
- UI/UX Design3 – 8 weeksFrom R18 000
- Brand & Graphic Design3 – 10 weeksFrom R12 500
- Hosting, Care & SupportOngoing, monthly. Cancel with 30 days' noticeFrom R450 per month
- Digital Consulting & WorkshopsOngoing, minimum three monthsFrom R12 500 per month
All figures exclude VAT and third-party costs, which are always quoted separately and passed through at cost. Every package, add-on and hosting plan is itemised on the pricing pages, and the commercial terms are in the full terms.
Ask the awkward question. I would rather answer it now than in month three.
Budget worries, scepticism about whether the spend is justified, uncertainty about what you even need: all of it is fair, and none of it will get you a sales pitch.

If the answer you needed isn't on this page, send the question.
Two working days, a real answer, and no follow-up sequence afterwards.
